One Piece Week 4: Sabaody Archipelago, Impel Down, Mary Geoise
Sorry about the late return to the world of One Piece, I am back to pass my knowledge onto the audience. Unfortunately, this is the last blog at this moment in time. I may decide to pick this back up in the future with a more spoiler heavy focus, but now it is time to talk about three important locations in the universe. With last week, there was a focus on the Yonko, Shichibukai, and Cipher Pol organization. Now, we look at the island known as the Sabaody Archipelago.
Sabaody Archipelago
The Sabaody Archipelago holds a strong significance across the One Piece world as being this sort of gate to the New World along the Grand Line. This island made up of groves of trees and bubbles attracts all types of consumers from pirates to the Marines to the Celestial Dragons themselves for various reasons. On this island many pirates never make it to the New World because of the increase of traffic from the Marines and World Government. So, there is a heavy warning amongst the more novice pirate crews to avoid conflict at all costs or run the risk of a Marine Admiral (Second Highest Rank in the Marines) descending on the island to kill or apprehend any pirates or criminals causing an obstruction to justice. As mentioned before, many pirate crews come to this island in order to get to the New World. To do that their ship must be coated with a special film that allows for a ship to withstand the pressure from descending into the depths of the sea because that is the only way to get to Fishman Island, the first stop before going into the New World. Aside from extra-curricular activities, there is not much else to add about Sabaody. Thus, we move on to underwater prison, Impel Down.
Impel Down
Impel Down is infamously known for being an inescapable prison at the bottom of the sea that holds all types of criminals from small time pirates to murderers and the like. There are six levels to the prison that are each a different level of hell, figuratively and literally. If sent to Impel Down, there is a chance that you may never see the light of day depending on the severity of your crimes as well as your bounty. To many in the prison, the sixth level is a myth to many prisoners because of the size of the underwater prison. Trying to break in or out of the prison is near impossible with the warden and jailers that preside over the prison as well as other inhabitants that roam the levels. The prison holds a significance for many reasons that I will not explain because that would give away too much. The focus on Impel Down in One Piece is one of the more memorable times in the series because of the events that occur inside the walls. Lastly, we go to the Holy Land Mary Geoise.
Mary Geoise
The Holy Land Mary Geoise is the island that houses the Celestial Dragons and in turn is the most important island to the World Government because their institutions are generated here. Since the Celestial Dragons live here that means the Gorosei are also here and all government proceedings essentially come from this island. Decisions that shape the world and the kingdoms that ally with the World Government originate from this island that holds the most important individuals. Besides the normal Gorosei actions, there is an event held every few years called Reverie that takes place at Mary Geoise. This event brings fifty leaders from across the World Government to discuss future plans and actions that need to be taken by the World Government in order to uphold values and keep peace. With being the foundation of the World Government, Mary Geoise may be the most critical location in the One Piece universe that takes precedent over other government islands like Impel Down.

This week was incredibily fun to do and I hope that whoever stuck around had as much of a good time as I did discussing One Piece. Seeing as this is the last week, I hope to return one day. But that is not for certain, so for now this is to be continued?
